Vice President and General Manager - Acute Inpatient

SUMMARY:  

The Vice President and General Manager is responsible for eCare’s provision of services offered through ICU, Hospitalist, and Senior Care. This individual is responsible for meeting strategic, operational, clinical, and financial objectives. This position will develop strategic plans, budgets, direct hiring, training, and evaluation of staff. In addition, this leader is responsible for enhancing practice and services, ensuring that the department meets all regulatory body requirements, and oversight the development clinical policies. Responsible for the integration of eCARE services, specifically the cultural adaptation including change management support, gap analysis, staffing model consultation, and work process impacts. This position will establish and facilitate accomplishment of quality, customer service, and process improvement goals. The Vice President and General Manager requires self-direction, responsibility, and travel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develops and successfully implements short and long range plans for the services. The plans will support the mission and vision of eCARE, as well as demonstrate alignment with eCare’s strategic plan.
  2. Assists in the preparation of operating and capital budgets. Manages expenses to ensure budgeted objectives are met. Establishes operational systems that ensure maximum resource utilization and financial performance of the department.
  3. Reviews, establishes, and directs the implementation of operating policies, procedures, plans for Avel eCare Services. Review and establish job responsibilities and authority, objectives, and standards of performance for subordinates.
  4. Establishes and measures progress towards annual operational goals. Develops and maintains staffing plans and productivity modeling. Hires, trains, and evaluates staff and oversight of third-party staffing contracts.
  5. Collaborates with customers to implement and refine processes on an ongoing basis to improve patient care and safety. Demonstrates the ability to interpret data to guide activities and improve patient care including analyzing data, discussing thresholds, and developing processes to address variances and/or improve care.
  6. Is accountable to achieve the services quality plan. Assists in the development and execution of the quality plans for each service line including its objectives and goals.
  7. Interacts in conjunction with the account management team and customers to manage the resolution of problems relating to Avel services and ensure customer retention goals are achieved.
  8. Partners effectively with key collaborators across Avel to support Services including Information Technology, Marketing, Business Development, Product Innovation, Human Resources, Quality, Legal, General Managers. Manage relationships with key partners and vendors.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Five to ten years of Acute Inpatient leadership experience is preferred.
  • Strong staff development and management skills required.
  • Strong history of budget and fiduciary responsibility preferred.
      

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATION:

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avel Health automobile liability insurance carrier.
