Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health - Full Time

Schedule: Full Time (72 hours/2 weeks, 0.9 FTE)


SUMMARY: 

Provides evaluation for individuals of all ages and all ethnic groups who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis. Must have ability to work in an intense, stressful work environment where you must perform rapid assessments and have the ability to multitask. Applies specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of assessment, and crisis intervention of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, conditions and addictions.  This includes severe mental illness in adults and seniors, severe emotional disturbances in children and adolescents, and acutely intoxicated or withdrawing individuals.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Answer all inquiry calls in a timely fashion, offer and provide on demand assessments, complete the database and keep all information up to date.  As the point of contact for all of eCare Behavioral Health services, provide excellent customer service to all callers.
  2. Complete the psychosocial assessment including suicide/homicide risk assessment, evaluate appropriate level of care and give guidance to the provider at the end site.
  3. Assist telemedicine sites with patient placement of psychiatric inpatient beds. Provide mental health support services in the community by keeping patients in their communities, encouraging outpatient care, and promoting mental health services.
  4. Provide de-escalation strategies, means restriction counseling, and provide disposition recommendations to individuals in the Behavioral Health programs. Be able to develop safety plans to assist individuals to remain safe in their communities.
  5. Assumes other responsibilities with eCare Behavioral Health projects and community activities as assigned by the Director.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

  • Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred.  Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
  • Two years of Behavioral Health nursing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.


CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
